You may decide to renegotiate the price and get ready to carry out the repairs once you move in. Before deciding which way to go you will need to discuss with your Mortgage Broker the outcomes from each decision that the Lender may make.

Sometimes a Mortgage Lender will apply a retention to the property. They hold some mortgage funds back until satisfactory repairs have been carried out.

The Lender may insist that works are re inspected before they pass over nay retained monies.

The Survey is for you and the Valuation is for the Lender.
